Fresh Finds, Every Day in Ringwood

"I have on numerous occassions purchased bone in beef cuts and bone in pork chops from this store to find that the bottom side of the product hasn't been scraped of bone material. When a bone in primal is cut on a band saw, BOTH sides will have a mixture of the protein itself as well as bone material that must be scraped off to prevent premature deterioration and to show that it's being purchased from a professional business. They scrape the side that is visible to the customer and knowingly leave the other side with this material on it in order to save time. Do you want your family and friends to eat bone material? I certainly don't These are not butchers. They are simply interchangeable hired hands. The fact that nearly every time I have purchased these products from Fresh Grocer store #170 in The Fieldstone Plaza of Ringwood, NJ makes me fully understand that they don't have real butchers in their employ. They simply do not care about what they are selling to the community they are supposed to be serving. That is if they actually have product to sell. Many times I have been in this store in the early afternoon (1:00PM-4:00PM) when the VERY small section of beef, lamb, veal and pork should be well stocked and the "butcher" is spreading out multiple packages of the same cut in many spots they don't belong. This is to create the illusion of choices. If they spent more time in the prep room cutting what is designated by those electronic display signs in the case, they wouldn't be taking the easy route of deceiving the public they pretend to serve."
